Photographer Melody Thornton was born in Northampton in 1970 and graduated with a BA (hons) from the London College of Printing 1999.
Throughout her career, Thornton's work has focused around people and the human form, with the emphasis on exploring the form through light and shape rather than realising a depiction of the model or sitter. A large portion of Thornton’s work is self portraiture.
Her early work also included being official photographer for "The Buzzcocks' live tour and photographing Malcolm McClaren for his single "The Bell'.
Thornton was recently announced as a finalist at the ‘Association Of Photographers’ awards and a semi finalist at the ‘National Open Art’ awards
