Melody Thornton
Photographer Melody Thornton was born in Northampton in 1970 and graduated with a BA (hons) from the London College of Printing 1999.
Throughout her career, Thornton's work has focused around people and the human form, with the emphasis on exploring the form through light and shape rather than realising a depiction of the model or sitter.
Her early work also included being official photographer for "The Buzzcocks' live tour and photographing Malcolm McClaren for his single "The Bell'.
Thornton is also currently a contributing photographer for Visit Britain.

Melody Thornton - 'Brief Encounter'
This body of work consists of Thornton’s more recent work, which is exploring sexual politics and mortality.

Melody Thornton - 'A Cook in the Bedroom'
This series of eleven images addresses the conflict a woman often faces when she becomes a wife or mother. Identity and sexuality are quickly replaced by domesticity and responsibility.
